Stampin’ Up! – Father’s Day card showcasing the What’s Cookin stamp and die bundle from the recently launched Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue

TUTORIAL

Well it has been 3 long months since my previous content. A lot of life has happened in that time and crafting and all things Stampin’ Up! have taken a back seat. But when Father’s Day was around the corner there was just no way I would not make my Daddy his card myself.

During these 3 months the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue launched. This, for a demonstrator would normally be an all singing all dancing event but this year I had to just let it happen without me. On my first flick through the catalogue this particular stamp and die bundle got my attention and I knew straight away it would be the set for my Father’s Day card this year. But as that day drew closer and I hadn’t been crafting I just could not visualise how I wanted his card layout to be. So like most card makers in a rut I hit Pinterest and stumbled across this layout by Whatcathymade.com.au and I knew I had everything to make it but slightly larger. Go check out her blog she is soooo super talented! Keep reading to find out how I made my version.

See below for sizes…

I added the tile and wood designer series paper to the night of navy matt layer (to look like a tile backsplash and wood counter/worktop) The was added to the A5 white card base.

I stamped the mixing bowl in crumb cake onto basic white and the spoon and rolling pin in soft suede onto soft suede cardstock. The spatula was stamped in soft suede onto basic white. The “happiness is homemade” sentiment was stamped in soft suede. I cut a slit in the bowl to slide the spoon etc inside.

I die cut the whisk, turner and knife from silver foil and the cut the knife again from wood grain DSP (I added black dots with a marker on wooden handle to look like rivets) Whisk and turner where attached to the utensil holder with tiny brads from my crafty stash. Utensil holder was cut from the smallest stitched rectangle dies. The chopping board was die cut from soft suede cardstock (this die also embossed the wood grain markings at the same time! – so clever!)

The Father’s Day greeting was computer generated and die cut from one of the stitched rectangle dies.

  • Colour matt layer (night of navy) 8 1/8 x 5 3/4
