Stampin’ Up! – In Good Taste Suite – Birthday card
COMPLETED PROJECT
Hello again and welcome back to my page. Since you were last here I have been a busy little crafter. As well as my full time day job I have had a little flurry of commissions for personalised cards. It has been great to be in demand and it has been quite a while since I have been so busy with commissions. These are just requests from family and friends so I rarely cover the costs of my materials but it has been super to have a “purpose” to craft. I’ll be honest I can struggle to create something if it is not for a particular person, event or occasion. It can be overwhelming to be surrounded by crafting supplies begging to be played with while having no specific direction. I need to be a woman with a plan and most definitely cannot “wing it”. Anyone else like that?
I am just loving this In Good Taste set and I’m pretty certain I can tell you now this will not be my last post using it. There are so many uses for it. For this post I thought I’d share a card I have already made for one of my commission requests. I should add thanks to my friends for agreeing to let me share cards I have made for them (after the recipient has already got it!) I choose this card to share as I think it highlights how easy it can be to put a card together if you stick to the items that come in the same suite. As much as all of the contents of the Stampin’ Up!’ catalogues can mix and match and create magic one of the biggest draws for me with Stampin’ Up! is the co-ordination within Suites/bundles/kits. The colours in the Designer Series Papers, ribbons and embellishments provide an instant colour palette to work with. This can help a beginner not familiar or confident putting colourways together or someone experienced that just doesn’t want to have to think about it and just get on with creating.
TOP TIP….

Each pack of Designer Series Paper has a list of colours used in the designs on their labels making it easy to select your co-ordinating card/ink/embellishments for your project.
With this card I used the Designer Series Paper, stamps and dies from the suite. Working from the colours listed on the DSP label I used Petal Pink and in place of Early Espresso which is a brown tone I used Crumb Cake (because I don’t yet own every colour in the Stampin’ Up! range) but proof that you don’t need to be put off if you are missing one element – just think of the colours as a guide/suggestion. Can you tell the brown I have used is not a 100% perfect match? I think it still works!
